#1 Elbows

Have you looked closely at your arms -- don't your elbows look darker and drier? It is because you often tend to not clean it properly. It looks dark mostly because of the buildup of dead skin cells, which you can get rid of by exfoliating the area. So every time you have a bath, use an exfoliating cream and rub a loofah over your elbow to wash off the dead cells. You can even use lemon juice to lighten your elbows. After exfoliating, don't forget to apply a moisturiser to soften the skin around your elbows. Here are some natural remedies you can try at home to soften rough elbows.

#2 Heels

How often do you clean your heels -- once in a week or only during a pedicure session? Well, you should be doing it every day to have smooth, soft heels and prevent cracked heels. One of the common causes of cracked heels is improper foot care and use of harsh chemicals that make them dry. While bathing, soak your feet in warm water before applying foot scrub or soap on the heels. Let it remain for 2 -3 minutes before you clean your heels with a scrubber or callus remover. Wash your feet with water, and do this routine daily for clean and smooth heels. Suffering from cracked heels? try these 5 effective homemade foot packs.

#3 Neck

You might be cleaning the neck but not the back of the neck, especially at its base. That's the reason why your neck looks darker compared to the rest of the body. While your neck is exposed to the environmental pollutants and chemicals all day long with sweat, it goes without saying that you need clean it properly every day. To clean it, apply soap on the front and back of the neck (including its base) and move your hands from bottom to the top of the neck and vice-versa to remove dirt. Now with your loofah, clean the neck properly to exfoliate dead skin cells.

#4 Ears

You might clean ear wax once a month but do you ever clean your ears while bathing? Yes, you need to clean your ears with soap and water every day to remove dirt and prevent wax build-up. Also, cleaning your ear regularly lowers your risk of ear infections. As you bathe, tilt your head to the right and splash some water gently in the right ear and clean it. Now do the same with the left ear. After you are done, remove the excess water with the help of a dry towel or cotton bud. Don t forget to clean your ears regularly. Here are some do s and don ts you should know about removing ear wax.

#5 Knees

Ever wondered why your knees are slightly darker than your thighs or legs? Again, the answer is lack of exfoliation. Also, back of the knees is least attended, leading to accumulation of dirt and sweat, which in turn increase your risk of infection and in some cases, leads to itching. All you need to do is apply soap and scrub your knees with a loofah while bathing. And don t forget to moisturise your knees to soften the skin.

#6 Back

To get a flawless back, use baby oil to remove black spots and uneven skin tone, says Aashmeen Munjaal, makeover consultant.
